The ceremony and reception will be hosted by the Consul General of France, Jérémie Robert in the French General Consulate in NYC, in late April.
The National Order of Merit is the second national order to honor French citizens, after the Legion of Honor. It recognizes distinguished merit acquired in a public, civil or military service or in the exercise of a private activity. It is not possible to request it for yourself: you have to be proposed by someone else. The national order of merit consists of knights, officers, commanders, then great officers and grand crosses.

San Diego, CA, Oct 4th, 2021 – The Institute of Business & Finance (IBF) recently awarded Hélène Carvallo with the estate planning designation, CES ™ (Certified Estate and Trust Specialist ™ ).
This graduate-level designation is conferred upon
candidates who complete a 135+ hour educational program focusing on trusts, wills, probate, retirement benefits, caring for children, and what should be done after the death of a loved one.
Over $50 trillion is expected to pass from one generation to another during the next half century.
CES ™ certification requires mastery of different types of trusts, ownership rules, disinheritance,
probate, pay-on-death accounts, insurance, spousal restrictions, special needs, conservatorships,
and managing assets. According to IBF, “There are a large number of estate planning books and
courses offered. The CES ™ program is one of the only courses that covers all aspects of estate planning including what needs to be done after death.”

May 8th,2007 – Hélène Carvallo published the WHITE PAPER “Women in the Arab World Between Violence and Impunity – The Algerian Case” at the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergency website.
In this paper, she argues that the position of women in Algeria is in no way exclusive to the Algerian context, but rather is symptomatic of the larger Arab-Muslim context. The thesis that she develops through the Algerian example, is that women in the Arab World experience a continuum of violence, from a culture of domination grounded in patriarchy, argued through the Shari’āh and legitimized in the positive law, to a political instrumentalization of the violence.
